Essential Jigs

Essential Jigs
A well made jig can improve accuracy, repeatability, and safety. This workshop will look at some of the most used jigs and fixtures in our shop and how they can be employed in yours; including auxiliary fences and sleds for the table saw as well as a plethora of useful jigs for other machines and power tools. Jigs can help out across a range of tasks from making repeatable parts to accurate cross cutting to joinery. Our goal is to introduce you to the main jigs in our shop but more importantly how you can apply jigs and jig making to your own practice.
Students will learn how to build a workhorse in any wood shop - an accurate cross cut sled for the table saw. Other jigs and accessories covered can be used as inspiration for improving your future projects or jig making.
This workshop is geared towards anyone wanting to expand their woodworking capabilities - from novice to more experienced woodworkers. No experience is necessary.
