Learn to make a simple wooden bowl on a lathe in this weekend+ workshop. Safe use of the lathe will be emphasized as students learn about the lathe, tools, and basic bowl turning techniques. Students will turn - rough out, shape, sand, and finish - a bowl to take home and use. Students are provided with personal safety equipment, a dedicated lathe and use of tools during the workshop.

This weekend primer will cover the basics of turning a bowl on a wood lathe. Students will learn the essential skills required to turn bowls - allowing students to continue with the craft and learn more advanced techniques. Students will learn about the lathe, turning tools, sharpening, chucking methods and basic techniques to manipulate a workpiece.

Materials will be provided. No experience necessary. Workshop is limited to four students.
