End Table

End Table

$820.00

In continuing with our furniture building series of classes, we now move to a staple piece of furniture in your home: the end table.

Students will spend ten weeks honing their craft as they develop new skills while making a beautiful end table.  A stunning and restrained design yields visual interest through subtle detailing and hierarchy. This piece of furniture packs a lot of lessons and concentrating on larger scale work will necessitate the development of new skills and process development. The simple design focuses around an open cubby for storing books and a drawer for household paraphernalia.

This course is geared towards those with some foundational woodworking experience who are looking to build on their existing knowledge and skills or for the motivated beginner.

Prerequisite
While there is no prerequisite for this course, the ideal student would possess a basic operational knowledge of major woodworking machinery and/or have previously taken an introductory level course or workshop from Hew. We will still be covering proper and safe machine use as we move through the class so it is still suitable for a beginner looking for a challenge.

Schedule
Class will meet for ten sessions on Monday evenings from 6-9pm between March 4 - May 6. Please expect to be here for each session as makeup classes are unfortunately not available and will be difficult to catch up.   A full day instructor supervised open studio session will be planned as a group for a Saturday or Sunday - it is heavily emphasized students attend.

Materials
Students will be provided detailed plans and a cut list for purchasing their materials before class begins.  Students will be limited to crafting one piece of furniture and for ease and flow of class should not plan on altering the design. Students must purchase materials before the first class so you can bring them with.

This course is limited to four students. Please reach out to info@hewwoodworking.com with any questions.
